Notebook: Kansas Basketball a hit at Big 12 Media Day

I got my mind set on you

NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Media Day Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Big 12 basketball media day was yesterday at Sprint Center in Kansas City.

Devonte Graham plans to enjoy this year as BMOC.

Graham took some questions from Twitter during media day.

I can’t remember if I linked this the other day or not, but Graham is just the lastest sub-100 prospect to become a star at Kansas.

Bill Self relives the phone call he got from Trae Young telling him he would be going to Oklahoma instead of Kansas - a phone call not many recruits are willing to make themselves.

There’s still no indication of any pending quarterback change from the Kansas football coaching staff.

Bill Snyder was asked if the current state of Kansas football mirrors K-State when he took over. In a word: No.

Daniel Wise had some interesting comments the other day, including this one:

The coaches aren’t the problem. We’re the problem. We’ve got to do everything better. We’ve got to practice harder, things like that.

Kansas is shooting up the list of three-star QB Vic Viramontes out of California, who originally committed to Michigan, then Cal, then went to Juco when Sonny Dykes left Cal.

ESPN radio host Dan Le Batard spent some time talking Kansas football during a recent show, including this gem:

... nowhere tumbleweed program that has no chance. It is the most incompetent thing that I’ve seen in major sports.

Kansas is up (down?) to #3 in the Bottom 25.

Kansas volleyball hosts Oklahoma tonight at Horejsi.

Sam Mellinger at the KC Star says October exhibition charity games should be annual events promoted by the NCAA.

The Astros and Dodgers just played the hottest game in World Series history - literally - with the Dodgers prevailing 3-1.

Please email the Kansas Chancellor at and let Dr. Girod know that you’re tired of Kansas football being a national topic of conversation due to it’s ineptitude. Dr. Zenger should be removed and steps should be taken to re-evaluate the current football staff.
