Kansas Jayhawk Football Predictions: Iowa State Cyclones

Can the Jayhawks actually keep this one close?

NCAA Football: Iowa State at Akron David Dermer-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off one of the worst games in recent memory, and they get to travel to the home of the team that pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season so far, at least in the Big 12. The Iowa State Cyclones stunned the Oklahoma Sooners last week, but is there any reason to think that they might have a bit of “big game hangover” on Saturday?

Fizzle406: I have a better chance of winning the lottery, getting struck by lightning and then winning the lottery again than Kansas does at winning this game. Hawkeyes 63, Kansas 6

Jakebogen95: Come on Kansas! Bound to win again at some point this season right? No? Well, this QB that just led Iowa State over the former 3rd-ranked team in the country, Oklahoma and Baker Mayfield, will need to prove he’s not a fluke. I’m picking Kansas because I am insane. Insanity sometimes leads to something. So in this case, I guess it’s the second Kansas Jayhawks win of the season. Kansas 34, Iowa State 31

KU Grad 08: I’m not watching the team or supporting this athletic department in any capacity until Zenger is fired and replaced by a new AD who won’t schedule games with Missouri and will get us good football coaches. Iowa 45, Kansas 26.

Mike: I mean, I think fizzle pretty much nailed it. We’re staring down the barrel of a team that just beat Oklahoma in Norman vs a team that can’t stop anybody. If ISU put 38 on the Sooners, how many will they put on Kansas? #FireZenger Hawkeyes 76, Kansas 24

David: Kirk Ferentz has really kept Iowa City relevant over the years. I don't know why we're playing a Big Ten school in the middle of October, but we'll lose no matter when we play them. Iowa 49, Kansas 17

Andy: You know how they say that you shouldn’t go grocery shopping when you are hungry? Well, you probably shouldn’t write football predictions either. I’ll go with an impossible score for an impossible game. I just hope that we get cherry and pumpkin. Iowa State 73, Kansas 2*ℼ
