As the 2017 recruits finalize their decisions, it appears that Kansas will be left out of the fray on Wednesday, February 1, aka National Signing Day, as KU’s class looks to be pretty well set. Barring any sudden, unexpected changes, Beaty will announce a class of 20 recruits on Wednesday afternoon.
Eight of these recruits are already on campus preparing for spring ball and Kansas will welcome the remaining 12 newcomers to campus this summer.
Here is your expected class of 2017:

As of January 30, this class ranked 57th in the country per Rivals, ahead of schools like Ole Miss, BYU, Cal, and several other Power-5 teams. Only one Group of Five school, Memphis, ranks ahead of KU.
In the BIg 12, however, KU ranks 9th, 12 spots ahead of K-State in the national rankings. West Virginia is the nearest Big 12 school to KU, at 53rd.
For a little perspective, KU’s 2016 class was ranked 85th.
I’m not an expert, but I don’t expect any surprises on signing day. It’s possible KU could add another player or two, depending on exactly what the scholarship situation is for this year. (I don’t know how many scholarships are available. Keegan said 16, but that’s clearly incorrect.)
Stay tuned to RCT for a closer look at each recruit as KU receives their letters of intent.
