Kansas just missed out on the number one overall recruit in the 2017 class DeAndre Ayton. How do they bounce back? Well, going all out for a 5-star point guard to replace Frank Mason and (possibly even Devonte Graham) is not a bad idea.
According to multiple reports, Trae Young will conduct an in-home visit with Kansas. Recruiting insider Jeff Borzello tweeted that Young would visit with Oklahoma State and Oklahoma but the in-house visits would be with Kansas on Friday and Kentucky on Saturday.
Trae Young says Oklahoma State and Oklahoma will see him Friday morning; Kansas in-home Friday afternoon; Kentucky in-home Saturday morning.

The Jayhawks appear to be in great shape to land Young. It truly means something when a recruit is willing to host you for an in-house visit. If I had to guess, it looks to be a two horse race between basketball powerhouses Kentucky and Kansas. However, one thing we have learned over the years is to not start counting your recruits before they commit. Sometimes things happen that truly shock the recruiting world.
There is no doubt that if the Jayhawks nabbed a commitment from Young it would be a huge move. It’s also worth noting Young has his official visit to Kansas scheduled on October 21st.
