#4 Kansas continued its winning ways this past weekend, sweeping through the Jayhawk Invitation to remain unbeaten - but not untested.

Kansas smoked Chicago State in three quick sets, 25-12, 25-8, 25-9 on Friday afternoon before dispatching Maryland in a more closely contested 26-24, 25-19, 25-23 three-set victory Friday evening.

But Arkansas gave KU all they wanted on Saturday afternoon. Kansas struggled to get the ball on the floor against the Razorback defense, and the Jayhawks eeked out a narrow five-set victory, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 31-33, 15-8. Arkansas busted a winning streak of 16 sets in a row for the Jayhawks when they took that second frame.

Kansas Volleyball has now won seven straight nonconference tournaments while notching 21 noncon victories in a row.

Junior Kelsie Payne was named the tournament MVP.

Up next, Kansas hits the road to Omaha to take on their first Top-25 opponent in Creighton at the Bluejay Classic. KU will play Creighton on Thursday, Sept 8, and Chattanooga (in Omaha) on Sept 9 before returning home for match against Northern Iowa on Saturday, Sept 10, at 6 PM.

Every home match this year is being broadcast on some combination of the Jayhawk Television Network, Time Warner Cable Sports Channel, ESPNU, or WatchESPN/ESPN3.
