Rhode Island travels to Lawrence to take on the Jayhawks in the season opener for both squads.
Kansas is coming off an 0-12 season and is looking for its first victory under David Beaty. KU’s last win was a 34-14 decision over Iowa State on Nov 8, 2014, under then-interim coach Clint Bowen.
Rhode Island is coming off a 1-10 campaign in 2015, their lone win a 20-0 shutout of Delaware. Head coach Jim Fleming is 2-21 in two seasons at Rhode Island.
Both squads have obviously been struggling for success lately, but FBS terrible should still be way better than FCS terrible.
Here are the essentials:
The Numbers
Rhode Island: 0-0, 0-0
Kansas: 0-0, 0-0
Line: Most FBS vs FCS games are off the board, but at least one book has the Jayhawks favored by 29.
