Rock Chalk Pick’em: The season begins

The ritual of the start of the college football season is familiar to us all. There are lots of predictions about good or bad each individual team is going to be. People argue about which players are going to be good, which teams are going to surprise or which coach should have been fired already.

But every year, there are also a group of people that are both arrogant enough to think they know how football works and dumb enough to put their predictions up for all the world to see. We found a group of such people last year (although maybe they just all thought it would be fun instead), and most of them returned to put their thoughts out there again this year.

As was our custom last year, we’ll pick 15 games each, with every Big 12 matchup included. We’ll fill in the rest with interesting or close games (or ones where we can pick against Missouri, because, why not?) and keep track of the results throughout the season. All of our picks are straight up, so the spread is only included to help give you an idea of how big any potential upsets would be.
