Beaty's "Kansas Blast" might be paying off. Kenyon Tabor, a 6'4" 215 lb WR/TE from Derby High School, committed to the Jayhawks on Twitter on Tuesday.
Tabor is not yet rated by any of the major recruiting services, but is considered the top pass catcher in the state of Kansas by CatchItKansas.com. His only other D1 offer to this point is from K-State, but he had visited Nebraska, Arkansas, and Oklahoma State while also receiving interest from Louisville, Missouruh, and NC State.
Tabor picked the Jayhawks over K-State because he likes the offense and is excited for the opportunity to help rebuild a major college program. From JayhawkSlant:
"KU would play me more as a big wide receiver," Tabor said. "What I weigh wouldn't be that big of a factor. At Kansas State it would be more of a true tight end and a lot of time with my hand on the ground. I don't have any problem playing that way. I think at KU there is more of a chance of playing early because my weight won't matter as much."
And from CatchItKansas:
"I have a chance to be a face of the rebuilding program at KU; I think they're doing something special there. Both teams (KU and K-State) have great coaches, amazing coaches. But I just felt like KU is just the better place for me."
"K-State, I would be more of a TE end there, I would have to put on a lot of weight. I liked what KU had for me a little more."
