The Kansas Volleyball program received its highest ever preseason ranking when the AVCA Top 25 came out today showing the Jayhawks at #5 in the country.

Kansas finished the 2015 season at #4 after following a two-loss season with a Final Four run. The Jayhawks finished at 30-3.

KU returns five starters off of last year’s squad, and last week, Jayhawk hitter Kelsie Payne was named Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year.

As for KU’s schedule, Texas was the only other Big 12 squad that made the Top 25, coming in at #2. However, Iowa State and TCU are both receiving votes.

Scheduled non-conference opponents include #18 Creighton and #20 Purdue. Both of those matches are road games for Kansas.

The season officially gets started on August 26 at Mississippi State. The first home match is scheduled for September 2.

Texas and Kansas will face off on Sept 24 in Austin and again on October 29 in Lawrence.
