Per a report on CBSSports.com, Kansas and Kentucky will once again (not unexpectedly) square off in the Big 12/SEC challenge.
Here's the full slate:
AWAY | HOME |
TEXAS | GEORGIA |
BAYLOR | OLE MISS |
KANSAS | KENTUCKY |
TEXAS A&M | WEST VIRGINIA |
IOWA STATE | VANDERBILT |
KANSAS STATE | TENNESSEE |
FLORIDA | OKLAHOMA |
AUBURN | TCU |
ARKANSAS | OKLAHOMA STATE |
LSU | TEXAS TECH |
Dates and times are still TBD. CBSSports cited "multiple sources" and also noted that the official announcement is still pending. For the first two editions of the challenge, the two conferences met in various matchups spread over several days in December. Last year, the schedule was altered, and all games were played on the same day in the middle of conference play in late January.
The Jayhawks are only 7-22 all-time against Kentucky, but are 4-3 vs the Wildcats over the last seven meetings since 2005.
Kansas has not released its full non-conference schedule for the 2016-17 campaign, but we do know that in addition to Kentucky, the Jayhawks will be taking on Nebraska in Lawrence and Duke in Madison Square Garden in the Champions Classic. Kansas is also expected to have a matchup with Syracuse in Miami and will face two of Georgia, UAB, and George Washington in the CBE Classic at Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO.
