Former Washburn and KU running back Brandon Bourbon has been found dead in Maries County, MO. Details are still scant at this time, but it appears that Bourbon had committed suicide. The Maries County Sherrff's office has confirmed the news.
Bourbon was reported missing by friends and family on Saturday, April 2.
Bourbon came to Kansas as a four-star RB recruit who chose Kansas over K-State, Missouri, BYU, Notre Dame, and Stanford. He struggled with injuries at Kansas, with his best year coming as a junior in 2013 when played in all 12 games, rushing for 191 yards on 41 attempts with 3 TDs behind James Sims.
After more injuries cut his 2014 season short, Bourbon transferred to Washburn. Bourbon put up 937 in 219 attempts during his senior year at Washburn.
