The 89th installment of the meet will begin on Wednesday, April 20 and continue through Saturday, April 23. A collection of the nation's top high school and collegiate athletes will be in action at Kansas' home facility, Rock Chalk Park, during the four-day event.
Track events held on the streets of Lawrence, food trucks and fireworks are just a few of the exciting activities that are set to take place in conjunction with the Kansas Relays presented by Subway later this week.
Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self has offered a scholarship to Bishop Miege freshman Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, the son of former KU player Lester Earl, Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi reported Tuesday. Miege’s Bol Bol, the son of the late Manute Bol, also has received a scholarship offer from KU. The 6-foot-11 sophomore scored 14 points in the state-title game.
"It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out," he said. "I do believe that at some point there’ll probably be a championship game played."
The civil suit accuses KU of failing to properly investigate the second assault, failing to protect the victim from subsequent intimidation by the football player and allowing her own coaches to retaliate against her after she reported it, in violation of federal Title IX law. The suit was filed Monday in Douglas County District Court. This is the third related suit to be filed against KU in the past six weeks.
Kansas Athletics will open Memorial Stadium on Thursday, June 2 for the second-consecutive year for fans to bring their blankets and pillows and enjoy a free movie on the stadium videoboard as it is hosting Movie Night at Memorial Stadium.
"It was a really unusual game for us because we usually have to grind it out in the end," head coach Ritch Price said. "It was really nice to see us locked in offensively. We swung the bats really well against quality pitching. We had quality at bats tonight. It was good to see the ball leave the yard today too."
Every weekday morning at 6 a.m. this spring the Jayhawks have been reporting to Horejsi Family Athletics Center for weight training and practice. But Tuesday morning was different.
