Iowa State - Kansas Predictions

How do you think senior day will go for the Jayhawks (and Bob Davis)?

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

It's the final regular season game of the season, and the last time we get to see seniors Perry Ellis, Jamari Traylor, Hunter Mickelson and Evan Manning at the Fieldhouse. Will we get to send them off in style?

David: This could really end up an entertaining shootout. Iowa State shots very well from both three and two, so with Kansas’ recent defensive play, it will be an instance of the irresistible force vs the immovable object. I expect a fast-paced game with a lot of scoring. I don't see Kansas losing on senior night, but ISU is about as dangerous as anyone in the conference on an individual-game basis. Kansas wins a close one. Kansas 81, Iowa State 78

KU Grad 08: Iowa State hasn’t looked great recently, Kansas is playing its best ball of the season, and the game is in Lawrence on senior night. Don’t know how I’d pick against the Hawks in this one. Kansas 82, Iowa State 71

dnoll5 This could be another one of those classic Perry v Georges (Personally, I pronounce the S) matchups that we’ve seen quite a few times over the years. And one thing is for sure, after Perry’s first half display in Texas where he just looked at his defender and basically laughed in his face and scored in a variety of ways at will, I expect him to come out on top simply for the fact that Iowa State, and Georges in particular, doesn’t defend well. It’s senior night at Kansas and the Jayhawks will win. Kansas 88, Iowa State 72

fizzle406: Should be a tough game but I think KU walks away with a victory. Plus, Evan Manning isn’t about to let them lose on his senior night Kansas 77, Iowa State 63

Winmore: With a 3 p.m. tip, shouldn’t it be senior afternoon? It’s weird to head into a final home game with a senior who actually contributes getting some love. Perry deserves it, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he absolutely goes off against the Cyclones. If you remember, way back to Perry’s freshman year in 2013, it was a game against the Cyclones in which Perry had his coming out party in throwing down 23 in the semis of the Big 12 Tournament. I look for the ‘Hawks to begin to run away with this game early with the continuation of their good play and the Cyclones chucking up too many bad three point attempts. Once the game is in hand though, I think the Jayhawks and all their fans will begin daydreaming about the tournament and the Cyclones will tighten things up and make it interesting. Kansas 93, Iowa State 87

mikeville: I don’t see KU losing this one. We haven’t lost on senior night since 1984. Ain’t gonna happen. Not to mention, we owe ISU a little payback after losing up in Ames earlier this year. I’d like to see the senior starters play at least to the first media timeout, but I imagine they’ll only get to the first dead ball. Either way, it should be a night to remember for those in attendance - I’m sure Perry’s speech will be amazing. Perry Ellis 82, Iowa State 72

misterbrain: Iowa State still has a slim shot at the 3 seed, so they have plenty to play for.  Kansas won't just lay down for them though, as they haven't lost a Senior night in a very long time.  I expect a close game through the half, but Evan Manning gets to spend the last 5 minutes on the floor. Kansas 87, Iowa State 71.
