Kansas (32-4, 15-3) finished the regular season at #1 in the AP Poll. The Jayhawks knocked off Austin Peay and UConn to make the Sweet 16.
Maryland (27-8, 12-6) finished the season at #18 in the AP Poll. The Terrapins beat South Dakota State and Hawaii to get their bid to the Sweet 16.
This is the fifth meeting all-time between Kansas and Maryland. The Jayhawks have a 3-2 series lead. The most recent meeting came in the 2002 Final Four, when the Juan Dixon led Terps knocked out Kirk Hinrich and the Jayhawks by a 97-88 score.
