Kansas (31-4, 15-3) finished the regular season at #1 in the AP Poll. The Jayhawks are coming off a 105-79 win over Austin Peay in the First Round.

UConn (25-10, 11-7) finished the season unranked but receiving votes. The Huskies won the American Athletic Conference tournament to claim their spot in the dance.  They knocked off Colorado by a 74-67 score in the First Round.

This is the third meeting all-time between Kansas and UConn.  The Jayhawks have a 2-0 series lead, beating UConn in Kansas City in January 1995 and in Hartford, CT in January 1997.

The Huskies are coached by Kevin Ollie, who is 97-43 in four seasons, all at UConn.  Ollie is 7-0 in the NCAA Tournament.

A berth in the Sweet 16 is on the line; the winner of this game will face the victor between Maryland and Hawaii on March 24, at a time yet to be determined.
