Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas are each 7-3 in conference play, a game behind West Virginia in the 2016 Big 12 race.
“We actually are not in a bad position. We’re playing teams ahead of us. I guess our destiny is in our own hands,” KU senior Jamari Traylor said after Saturday’s 75-56 victory at TCU.
Kansas needed this win in the worst way. Sure, the Jayhawks knocked off K-State and Kentucky in their past two outings, but those games were at home and the K-State game was ugly. This one was on the road, where KU had looked terrible in its last three outings and, more importantly, was against a team that KU had no business letting hang around. Had KU struggled in this one or, worse yet, lost at TCU, things would’ve have been very ugly around Lawrence for the next week or so and you would have had to wonder about KU’s confidence heading into its two biggest games of the year.

Pete Mundo of Heartland College Sports spoke with writer/editor Steve Fletch of the popular Kansas Jayhawks website Rock Chalk Talk. What’s the relationship like between Bill Self and Brannen Greene? Will the Jayhawks pull off another Big 12 title? Plus, how about David Beaty’s recruiting class? Can they improve their standing in the Big 12? All that and more!
Can you really call Kansas a loser at this point? Look at what David Beaty is working with here… and it’s a damn hard job (by far the hardest in the Big 12).
Much like their Orange Bowl days in 2007-08, the dynamic Jayhawk duo combined for 10 tackles and played lockdown coverage to aid in a pass rush that sacked Carolina's Cam Newton seven times and forced four turnovers in the win.
Kansas remains undefeated in 2016, as it improved to 6-0 on the season with the win over the Buffaloes.

"Frankly, some of the data we saw today causes us to continue to question whether or not we have a better chance of getting in the playoff without a championship game than we do with a championship game," said Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, whose league is the only one of the five power conferences without a title game.
Herman topped it off Wednesday with what is reportedly the highest-ranked recruiting class ever among the game's unwashed (Group of Five conferences -- American, Sun Belt, Mountain West, MAC and Conference USA).
The win marks the end of a fantastic week that started with the rare win at Iowa State in Hilton Coliseum. After Saturday's win and Oklahoma's loss at Kansas State, West Virginia sits alone in the top spot of the Big 12 standings with an 8-2 conference record.

Does production truly come before chemistry, vice versa or does the answer lie somewhere in the middle?
