The Kansas Jayhawks take on a local team tonight in the UMKC Kangaroos, but that’s about the extent of the excitement tonight. How entertaining will this game be? Does Kansas have to worry at all about this matchup? Read on for what our writers think, then be sure to give us a prediction in the comments below.
David: Per KenPom, UMKC is the worst team Kansas will face this year. The Jayhawks will enjoy a significant size advantage, plus UMKC is terrible from two anyway. They also don't take care of the ball, don't do much on the offensive boards, don't get to the free throw line, and have no rim protection. Even a cold shooting night shouldn't keep this one close, as KU should be able to do what they want at the rim. Kansas 88, UMKC 63
KU Grad 08: Kansas could be due for a cold shooting night from three with how hot they’ve been lately. Even if that does happen, it won’t matter. KU is going to win easily regardless, and if they do keep knocking down threes at a crazy rate this thing could be really ugly. Hey, remember when UMKC beat MU? LolololololololKansas 90, UMKC 68
mikeville: Last time these two met up it was something like 99-52. That sounds about right this time as well, although here’s saying the Jayhawks break the century mark. Kansas 105, UMKC 60.
dnoll5: To elaborate a little more on Grad’s UMKC over MU comment…..bwahahahahahahaha. But let’s get serious. Missouri lost to North Carolina Central this season and that team is ranked below UMKC in KenPom. So, in conclusion, UMKC is probably a little better than Missouri this year, but KU is better than almost everybody. I know this has nothing to do with anything, but I have no analysis. Kansas 102, UMKC 70.
Fizzle406: UMKC, let me tell you something about Bill Self. He’s a stylin’, profilin’, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ son of a gun and Self 3:16 says he’s gonna kick your ass. Kansas 100, UMKC 69
Jakebogen95: UMKC, your logo is a kangaroo in a sweater? Nope. KU is hanging 100 on you. Kansas 109, UMKC 55
misterbrain: This one shouldn’t really be in doubt at all tonight. Even with a poor start by the Jayhawks, the talent differential will just be too much to overcome. Kansas 99, UMKC 66.
