Stanford is coached by former KU player Jerod Haase, who is in his first season in Palo Alto. Haase is in his fifth year overall as a head coach, with a 86-55 with his prior stint at UAB.
KU owns an 8-3 lead against Stanford in the overall series, but the Cardinal have won the last two meetings. No doubt most of us remember the 2014 NCAA Tournament game where Stanford edged Kansas, 60-57. Only two current Jayhawks played in that game: Frank Mason and Landen Lucas.
This matchup is the first of a four-game series, to be played through 2019.
Against Long Beach State, Frank Mason passed Jerod Haase on the KU scoring list.
Kansas has the nation's longest home-floor winning streak, with 43 straight at Allen Fieldhouse.
