So there’s not really much to say about this one, is there? Kansas absolutely obliterated the Bulldogs of UNC Asheville on Friday night by a 95-57 score.

Recap

Bill Self trotted out a different starting five tonight, leaving Landen Lucas and Carlton Bragg on the bench in favor of Lagerald Vick and Udoka Azubuike. Lucas and Bragg didn’t sit long, however, entering the game after the first media timeout with 14:44 to go in the first half.

UNC-A hung around for a bit in this one, trailing only 14-12 nine minutes into the game. An 8-0 run by KU at that point basically buried the Bulldogs, though, as KU stretched it out to a 47-21 halftime lead.

The second half was a lot of running and gunning as the Jayhawks played with a lead of 30+ points. UNC-A would never get closer than 24 points during the second period.

This and That

As noted, Landen Lucas and Carlton Bragg did not start.

Once he got in the game, Lucas picked up two quick fouls, but Self did not take him out right away.

Again, Frank Mason led the Jayhawks in scoring, with 21 points on 8-10 shooting, including 5-5 from behind the arc.

As a team, KU shot 13-21 (61.9%) from 3-pt land.

Kansas struggled once again from the charity stripe, hitting only 6 of 16 attempts (37.5%).

Udoka and Jackson each had three blocks.

Devonte Graham had 11 assists vs 6 points on 2-4 shooting, all 3-pt attempts.

Up Next

Kansas will host Long Beach State University in Allen Fieldhouse on Tuesday, November 29, at 7 PM Jayhawk time.
