11 Days Until Kansas Basketball: The All Halloween Team

Happy Halloween, everyone. While today is mostly known for eating candy, it is also great for puns and getting to take up a day in this countdown I regret more and more every day. Anyway, today we have the KU related all Halloween team. A couple of these are a bit of a stretch but whatever:

PG: Jeff Boo-schee (1998-2002)

My favorite Jayhawk of all time was going to obviously make it on here. The North Dakota native ended his career as the all time KU and Big 12 leader in made threes, and led the nation in offensive efficiency his senior year. He is currently the head coach at Missouri Southern.

PF: Boo-lian Wright (2005-2007)

Yes I am re-using the boo pun. There are only so many. Wright was a third team all American in 2007 and was taken 13th overall in the NBA Draft that year. He currently plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey.

C: Jeff Scarey (1998-2002)

The co-captain of the 2002 team with Boschee (still the only undefeated Big 12 team ever), Carey played in 120 games in his Kansas career, averaging 1.5 points per game.

C: Troll Aldrich (2008-2010)

Cole Aldrich made an instant impact when he came into the 2008 Final Four and destroyed Tyler Hansbrough. He then put up back to back incredible seasons in 2009, and 2010, going from a defensive specialist to maybe the best all around player in the Self era. He currently plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

C: Ghoul-aye Niang (2002-2005)

Niang had to retire after his junior year due to some back issues, and prior to that his playing career never really took off. Niang currently works as an accounts receivable/accounts payable supervisor (whatever that is), and has also tried his hand at coaching AAU basketball, although I don’t believe he is currently.
