It is no secret that the Kansas Jayhawks will have a very successful, championship winning season... in basketball. Okay, okay, that's not fair, but hey there is something to be positive about this year. The Kansas Jayhawks have a very good opportunity to put together a solid recruiting class for the 2016 season. No, they won't finish with a top 25 recruiting class but they have already gotten solid commits in their ten verbal commits to date. Prospects such as Maciah Long, Antione Frazier, Kyle Mayberry, Braylon Royal, Marquis Smith and Hunter Harris are all three star prospects and have a really good chance to play early in their college career.
Those who are not familiar with college football recruiting or too annoyed to search through databases to look for prospects that are showing interest in KU, allow me to introduce you to the Crystal Ball Prediction machine by 247sports.com. This tool allows the public to search prospect names and will provide a prediction of where that prospect will commit. This tool will vary between 1 and up to 4 schools at any one time. I took the liberty of searching the prospects that are considering the Jayhawks according to ESPN.com. We will cover five football recruits in this week's article and update throughout the season with new names and new news.
Isaiah Simmons - Isaiah Simmons is a 4 star safety from Olathe, Kansas and attends Olathe North High School. Simmons is rated as the 17th ranked Safety in the country and 3rd best player in the state of Kansas. Simmons holds nine scholarship offers and has a 100% crystal ball prediction in favor of the Kansas Jayhawks. Isaiah is a member of the Semper Fidelis All American game.
Amani Bledsoe - Amani Bledsoe is a 4 star Defensive End from Lawrence, Kansas and attends Lawrence High School. Bledsoe is rated as the 11th ranked Defensive End in the country and 2nd best player in the state of Kansas. Bledsoe holds 22 scholarship offers and has a 22% crystal ball prediction in favor of the Kansas Jayhawks while Oklahoma holds a 78%. Amani is a member of the Semper Fidelis All American game.
Bubba Ogbebor - Bubba Ogebor is a 3 star Wide Receiver from Frisco, Texas and attends Heritage High School. Ogbebor is rated as the 163rd Wide Receiver in the country and the 128th best player in the state of Texas. Ogbebor holds nine scholarship offers and has a 33% crystal ball prediction in favor of Kansas, as well as Boise State and Texas Tech.
Karon Randolph- Karon Randolph is a 3 star Wide Receiver from East Saint Louis, Illinois and attends East St. Louis High School. Randolph is rated as the 226nd Wide Receiver in the country and 42nd best player in the state of Illinois. Randolph holds two scholarship offers, from Kansas and Florida State.
Lamar Anderson- Lamar Anderson is a 3 star Wide Receiver/Cornerback from Saint Louis, Missouri and attends Christian Brothers College High School. Anderson is rated as the 94th best Athlete in the country and 16th best player in the state of Missouri. Anderson holds four scholarship offers and has a crystal ball prediction of 50% in favor of Kansas with the other 50% belonging to Buffalo.
This week's article is heavy on Wide Receivers and split decisions. Bubba Ogbebor, Karon Randolph and Lamar Anderson are all toss ups and we don't really know how these individuals are leaning. But, much like in basketball, games are won with the 50-50 balls. I would argue that these 50-50 decisions play a big part in Kansas' future.
If anyone has any specific questions regarding a certain prospect be sure to mention them in the comments section and I will include them in next week's article.
