"Matthew has been dismissed from our program for a violation of team rules,” Beaty said in the release. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
“As a coaching staff, we have an extra job Saturday to try to manage that emotion that’s going to be wrapped up,” Beaty said. “Being able to step out there just for warm-ups, if nothing else, is going to be something we’re going to have to be able to manage, particularly with the number of young players that are going to be experiencing their first Division I football game.”

Forward Clay Young has joined the Kansas men's basketball team as a walk-on, KU head coach Bill Self announced Wednesday. A transfer from Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC), Young (6-5, 205) will be a redshirt sophomore at KU.
"The '69 Orange Bowl cemented my ties to the Jayhawks," Bechard reflected. "I can just remember sitting with my family and the disappointment in my older brothers and in myself - that's when I realized that, if I get that disappointed in just a football game, I must be developing some form of allegiance with KU."
While Shaw is thankful for the bond he has formed with his mom as part of his travels, he also credits his opportunity to explore other parts of the world for his easygoing nature when it comes to taking on multiple tasks at one time and embracing change.
After kicking off its season with four-consecutive matches away from home, the Kansas soccer team is set to return to the friendly confines of Rock Chalk Park this Friday, Sept. 4, to take on the Santa Clara Broncos.
