The hits just keep on coming. According to the Lawrence Journal-World, defensive lineman Andrew Bolton is no longer on the football team. Obviously this is bad news, given that depth is not exactly a strength of this year's team. Many of last year's starters were seniors. Now, Bolton's name gets added to the list of once-thought-to-be-returning starters Nigel King, Jake Love, Corey Avery and Isaiah Johnson no longer with the team.
At this point, it's hard not to be numb to bad news as a Kansas football fan. The bottom line is this year's team wasn't going to be successful anyway. The loss of one more just-ok lineman isn't going to ruin anything that wasn't already falling apart.
Bolton was an occasional starter last year, racking up 16 tackles and 1.5 sacks. The major loss is here is that this team just simply doesn't have enough experienced players to keep losing guys with starting experience.
