He realizes that a jersey is just a jersey and that the big, bold number on it is irrelevant if the player wearing it cannot deliver. But a series of events that took place from the end of last season to the beginning of this one has Goodman believing big things are in store for KU’s new No. 10.
“When that happened to him in the spring, man, it broke my heart,” KU coach David Beaty said Monday at Big 12 media days in Dallas. “The kid had surgery in the middle of June, and I looked out my window the other day and (saw) him throwing the ball already. He is a unique guy. So if anybody can make it back this year, it would be him. We're obviously trying to see if we can maybe get another year for him. That would be great.”
New head coach David Beaty knows the program after serving as both a receivers coach and a co-offensive coordinator, and he knows high-octane offenses as a part of the Texas A&M coaching staff over the last four years. And now he has a totally blank sheet of paper of a program to work with.
Jordan Zolman, an infielder from Arbyrd, Missouri, comes to Kansas after two seasons at Missouri, while Andie Formby, a pitcher from Orange, California, spent her freshman campaign at Virginia.
Kansas incoming freshman Nina Khmelnitckaia took home the singles title at the ITA Summer Circuit being held at the Jayhawk Tennis Center Sunday morning. Khmelnitckaia defeated her Jayhawk teammate, Anastasiya Rychagova.

The NCAA determined that UAB can resume playing in 2017 and compete immediately at the Football Bowl Subdivision level, according to a university news release. UAB will not be subject to FBS requirements for three years starting in 2015-16 and will be counted as an FBS opponent once it begins playing again. UAB could also be immediately eligible for a bowl game and the Conference USA championship in 2017.
