Ben Krauth was named among the conference's top players along with senior left fielder Connor McKay, who earned All-Big 12 First Team honors, sophomore catcher Michael Tinsley, who earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selections senior first baseman Blair Beck, senior second baseman Justin Protacio, sophomore closer Stephen Villines and freshman shortstop Matt McLaughlin.

Shaka Smart's schedule at Texas next season is pretty good -

We'll see how Smart adjusts, but at least he's getting a good dose of quality competition. The Longhorns will be worth the watch from the start, just to see how everything changes with a new coach. (Mr. Ed says: Huh. I've seen much tougher schedules recently. This one just isn't that impressive to me.  Whatevs.)

Everett Golson makes decision, will transfer to Florida State -

LSU AD on Texas A&M: 'We will not play in Tiger Stadium on a Thursday' -

Last season, the Aggies hosted LSU in a 23-17 loss on that Thursday night -- the slot previously dedicated to their annual rivalry game against Texas. While Texas A&M may continue that tradition at home with the Tigers, Alleva said there is no chance the game gets moved from Saturday to Thursday under his watch.

Syracuse to restore legendary No. 44 jersey worn by Jim Brown, others -

Arguably the most iconic piece of Orange football history, jersey number 44 was worn by three era-defining running backs between 1954-66: Jim Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. The number was last worn by future pro Rob Konrad in 1998 and retired in 2005. But many Orange fans have clamored for the number to be reinstated to the active roster.

24 Nebraska baseball players get stuck in an elevator, hilarity ensues -

The University of Nebraska baseball team is currently in Minnesota preparing for the Big Ten Tournament. They'll play Illinois at Target Field on Wednesday. On Tuesday, most of the team got stuck in an elevator together, presumably at their hotel. Junior catcher Colton Howell says 24 (!) players were in the elevator at once.

Harbaugh tells young fan 'asking politely' won't be enough to beat OSU -

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh knows that asking politely or hoping real hard won't be enough to beat Ohio State when the Buckeyes visit the Big House on Nov. 28. Harbaugh, a man who always likes to impart wisdom when the opportunity presents itself, had to pass along this lesson to a young fan at a charity golf outing on Monday.

Chris Harris named 4th-best NFL player

He was thrown at 89 times during the season but did not allow a single touchdown. He allowed 46 receptions (51.7%), but those catches went for an average of just 7.7 yards per catch and he wasn’t beaten for a pass longer than 22 yards all season. He notched three interceptions and 10 passes defensed, and when thrown at he yielded a passer rating of just 47.8.

No Surprise, Wiggins Named to NBA All-Rookie Team

Wiggins, who was named the NBA Rookie of the Year on April 30, was the only NBA All-Rookie First Team member to be a unanimous selection from the 130 panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada.

At the Eagles’ rookie mini-camp, the corner said, he found himself picking up new techniques at a fast pace. While playing press coverage — something he did at KU, too — he got too “handsy” on a few plays by doing things that were fine in college. He discovered he’ll have to get rid of some of those habits he picked up in his first three seasons of playing defensive back.

NFL rule change: Extra point moved back, defenses can score -

In 2015, instead of kicking an extra point from the two-yard line, teams will be forced to kick from the 15-yard line. And the defending team will be allowed to score two points if it grabs possession of the ball and takes it back the other way. And if you're not a fan of the new rule, well, it's only in effect for this season -- for now.

Matt Joyce gets benched for confusing day game with night game -

Angels outfielder Matt Joyce was in the original starting lineup, but he was scratched not long before first pitch with no explanation given. As it turns out, Joyce thought they were playing a night game in the series-opener and he was late to the park.

The Rock, WWE discussing potential match at WrestleMania 32 -

The return match that WWE has been building up to appears to be The Rock against his former rival -- and the company's executive vice president -- Triple H. The duo have gone head-to-head twice over the last year, first backstage last October and then again with Rousey and Stephanie McMahon (WWE chief brand officer and Triple H's wife) by their respective sides at WrestleMania 31.
