Ben Heeney was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the 4th pick in the 5th Round, #140 overall. Heeney was the 19th linebacker taken in the 2015 NFL Draft. The now-former Jayhawk will try to make a name for himself in the AFC West, much to the chagrin of those Jayhawks/Chiefs fans out there.
According to the depth chart at Raiders.com, Ben Heeney joins Khalil Mack, Miles Burris, Ray-Ray Armstrong, Bojay Filimoeatu, and Spencer Hadley as linebackers on the Oakland roster.
By all accounts, Heeney has a chance to make an impact right away on special teams, and I personally wouldn't be surprised to see Ben get some playing time at linebacker. Most "experts" did not have linebacker as a "need" for Oakland, but Ben's energy and work ethic will surely be a boon not only to special teams but to their defense as well.
