4 Star LaGerald Vick Commits to Kansas

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

It isn't entirely sure whether 4 star wing LaGerald Vick will reclassify to 2015 or remain a 2016 recruit (though the smart money is on 2015) but either way he committed to doing so as a Jayhawk today. The 49th ranked player in 247's class of 2016, Vick originally was committed to SMU before committing and is now a Jayhawk.

Vick has shot up the rankings in most evaluators estimations after a great spring. Vick's AAU coach likened him to Ben McLemore and said that Bill Self's reputation for developing players is what sealed the deal in making him a Jayhawk.

While Vick has a reputation as a good shooter, his best skill seems to be the ability to slash into the lane, which will hopefully allow him to either create looks for himself or for others.

As for how this affects the rest of the Jayhawks, Vick will have a chance to seize some early playing time with the Jayhawks taking part in the World University Games in August. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk is not eligible due to not being American, and Brannen Greene will not play due to an injury.
