Due to the threat of inclement weather in the Columbia area, Kansas softball's first game of the NCAA Tournament against Louisville on Friday, May 15, has been moved to a 12 p.m. first pitch.
The Jayhawks (38-13, 8-10 Big 12) enter postseason play with its best overall record since 1997, a squad that also made it to the NCAA Regionals. KU continues to build its resume this season after recording the best win-loss margin Kansas has seen in the last 23 years.
The top-two winningest programs in men's college basketball will continue their rivalry as Kentucky will play at Kansas inside historic Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Big 12/SEC Challenge presented by Sonic. ESPN, the Big 12 and the SEC announced the pairings Thursday.
“When the best answer to the question of ‘Why Kansas?’ is ‘Why not?’, you’ve got yourself a pretty strange college basketball season on the way,” Mike DeCourcy wrote.

Kentucky's renovation to Commonwealth Stadium, at an estimated cost of around $110 million, focuses much more on upgrades rather than expansion. In fact, the projected capacity of the new stadium is expected to be less than its previous total of 62,093.
