2015 Spring Football - Running Backs

As we edge closer to the spring game on April 25th, let's take a look at what players remain and who has come on board to Coach Mitchell’s RB corps.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The new look Jayhawks began spring practice on March 24th and the spring game is scheduled for April 25th. Today we will check in on the running backs.

Reggie Mitchell was retained by HCDB as the Running Backs Coach and reclaimed this position as recruiting coordinator. Mitchell is a known quantity and brings stability to an experienced group that will be the center of the offense this season.

2015 will see the return of the top two rushers from last season in De’Andre Mann (Sr.) and Corey Avery (So.). The two ran for 4.7 and 4.2 yards per carry last season, respectively, behind a below average front. The sophomore took nearly twice as many carries as Mann and got into the endzone more (5-0). Look for Navarro JC transfer Ke’aun Kinner (Jr.) to join the competition. The NJCAA 1st team All-American rushed for twice as many TD’s last season as all KU rushers combined. This unit should be one of the strongest on the team this fall.

Here is the current RB roster:
