KU advances to the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.

Kansas held on to a slim lead most of the game and finally time ran out for the Horned Frogs Thursday afternoon in Kansas City.

The game was nip-and-tuck for the first 15 or so minutes until Kansas managed to claim a 26-20 lead with 4:16 before halftime.  The Jayhawks would end up taking a seven-point, 33-26 lead into the break.

However, TCU would score the first six points of the second half and would not go away.  The Jayhawks never trailed in the second half, but TCU did tie the score up three separate times.  Kansas finally pulled away in the final minute and took the game, 64-59.

TCU struggled with untimely turnovers (15) and fouls (25, including Kyan Anderson and Trey Zeigler fouling out).

With Perry Ellis' knee still keeping him out of the lineup and the NCAA still looking into Cliff Alexander, the game saw eight Jayhawks play 13+ minutes; Hunter Mickelson got in 8 minutes as well.

Kelly Oubre led all scorers with 25 points on 5/10 shooting.  Landen Lucas was the only other Jayhawk in double figures with 13 points on 6/7 shooting.

Kansas outrebounded TCU 34-28.  Lucas snagged 7 and Oubre added 6.

As a team, Kansas shot 0/8 (0.00%) from 3-pt range while TCU went 1/6 (16.7%) from behind the arc.

Kansas hit 18/29 (62.1%) free throws to TCU's 18/25 (72.0%).  Kelly Oubre actually did most of his scoring from the charity stripe, hitting 15/19.

Up next, top-seeded Kansas will take on 4-seed Baylor in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament on Friday, March 13, at approximately 6:00 PM Jayhawk time. The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.
