The Blindfold Test: Midseason Big 12 player of the year

New, 147 comments

Can you pick the midseason player of the year without any names?

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Last year I did a blindfold test to see who people really thought was the Big 12 player of the year. Now that we're at the halfway point, it's time to do the same again this year. Below you'll find the statistical profiles of 15 different Big 12 players. Your mission is to comb through the table and (without cheating), vote for who you really think deserves POY honors right now without the benefit of names.

This year I think the exercise is a bit more mysterious than 2014. Last year, guys like Wiggins, Embiid, Ejim and Smart were pretty easy to pick out. The numbers blend together a bit more with this year's candidates. If you pay a lot of attention to the Big 12 (and stats), you can probably pick out most of them, but several may surprise you.

I used an assortment of numbers, trying to include some per game information along with a few "advanced" measures. I think the data I chose paint a pretty clear picture, but I can add something if requested by enough people.
