Ke'Aun Kinner, described as a "scat back" in his 247sports bio, comes to Kansas by way of Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas. At 5'10 (or 5'11, depending on the bio) and 185 pounds, Kinner may not bring size to the position, but his speed and elusiveness drew offers from some schools who know a thing or two about running backs. Georgia Southern has one of the nation's better option running attacks, and both Iowa and Oklahoma State have put RBs in the NFL over the past few years, so Kinner was a nice get by Reggie Mitchell.
In his second year of junior college, Kinner was named to the Juco All-American team after amassing 1,696 yards (6.7 per attempt) and 22 TDs. In his senior year of high school, Kinner fell just shy of 3,000 rushing yards against Dallas Metro area competition. He had offers from Texas and LSU out of the high school ranks, but failed to qualify academically.
