The Jayhawks return to the friendly confines of Allen Fieldhouse this afternoon and welcome in the Grizzlies of Montana.
Kansas currently resides at #2 in the AP Poll and is coming off a 82-67 come-from-behind win against Oregon State in Sprint Center.
Montana is unranked and holds a 4-5 record so far this year. They are coming off a 79-59 win against Great Falls. Their only win of note so far came against Boise State, while they feature losses at the hands of Gonzaga, Pepperdine, and Washington.
KU and Montana have only one prior meeting, with the Jayhawks knocking off the Grizz back in December of 1962 in Allen Fieldhouse.
Montana is coached by Travis DeCuire who is 24-18 in his second season with the Grizzlies. This is his first head coaching job. DeCuire is a Montana alum, and was an All-conference player for the Grizzlies in the early 1990s. Montana is a member of the Big Sky Conference, where they were picked to finish 2nd in the preseason media poll. The coaches poll picked Montana to win the conference this year.
