Bob Davis to call his final football game at KU on Saturday

The legendary announcer is retiring after calling his 373rd football game for KU.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Bob Davis came to the University of Kansas in 1984 and has been the voice of the Jayhawks for the last 32 years.  For decades, he worked with the equally legendary Max Falkenstein, who retired after the 2007-08 basketball season.

Bob's first game behind the mic for Kansas was a 31-7 win over Wichita State.  That same season, he saw Kansas knock off Troy Aikman and the Oklahoma Sooners.  He's been to six bowl games, with KU having a 5-1 record.  He saw the Jayhawks win an Orange Bowl.  He's worked with 10(!!!) head football coaches at KU.

In honor of Bob's last football game behind the mic, I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of his best calls over the past few years.  (I almost lose it when I hear that Kerry Meier highlight.)  Bob will be working through the end of basketball season, so we'll do this again in March/April for basketball as well.
