Kansas is 2-1 after smoking Chaminade by a 123-72 count last night. UCLA is 4-1 on the season after getting past UNLV in a tight one, 77-75.
The Bruins are coached by Steve Alford, who is 53-24 at UCLA and 516-259 in his career, which includes stops at Southwest Missouruh State, Iowa, and New Mexico.
UCLA leads the all-time series with KU by a 10-7 margin, but Kansas has won the last three matches, plus seven of the last nine. Kansas is now 12-6 all-time at the Maui Invitational, winning the event once, in 1996. This is Bill Self's third trip to Maui with KU.
Should Kansas knock off UCLA, they will face either Wake Forest or Vanderbilt tomorrow at 9 PM in the championship game. In the event of a loss, KU would face the loser of Wake/Vandy at 6:30 PM.
