Kansas is 0-6 (0-3) after dropping a 30-20 decision to Texas Tech in Lawrence last weekend. It was a spirited effort, and many are curious to see if the Jayhawks can show real progress by remaining competitive the rest of the year.
Oklahoma State comes into the game with a 6-0 (3-0) record and a shiny #14 spot in the AP poll. The Cowboys are coming off a bye week. Prior to that, they were able to sneak out of Morgantown with a 33-26 win.
Last week, I said this about Texas Tech:
Once again, don't fool yourself, the Jayhawks don't have much of a shot in this one.
Unfortunately, that's how I feel about this game as well. Don't misunderstand - I want to believe - I really do. But the last four years have seen us take at least three steps back for every one step forward. OSU has a tough defense and Kansas hasn't played well on the road since 2008. Captain Obvious tells me that's not a good combination. So again, I'm just looking for some glimmers of hope for the future - get in the end zone a couple of times, keep Ryan Willis in one piece, see if you can't get after their quarterback, and maybe we can make this thing interesting to watch.
Anyway, it's almost gametime, so you know what that means:
