Congrats to my man, John Smoltz, on going into the baseball hall of fame.  Anyone want to help fund my trip to Cooperstown for the induction ceremony?

Getting to know No. 21-ranked Baylor | Smithology |

Scott Drew, who is 3-13 against Bill Self’s Jayhawks since taking over in Waco, Texas, has coached BU to 12 straight victories at the Ferrell Center. Wouldn’t you know it, the Bears’ last home loss came to Kansas on Feb. 4, 2014.

"Our most consistent player this year so far? Frank, hands down," Self said. "I don't want to say that he's our best talent because I still think Perry (Ellis), when he's playing well, can put up numbers. But Frank's been our most valuable player easily, and (that's) in large part because when Devonte' (Graham) went down, we didn't have another point guard, really, in our program."

Jayhawks to begin quest for another Big 12 title |

“This will be the hardest year for us to win league. Whoever wins it will earn it because you’ve got to go through a lot of good teams,” Self said, adding, “I like Baylor’s personnel a lot. I like how the pieces fit. Their zone is active. They are very deserving of their ranking.”

Kansas isn't the Big 12 favorite? Ha! We'll believe it when we see it | FOX Sports

Oh, sure, the cool kids doubt them. It's hip and rad and all those other pimply hyperboles. When Kansas wins, it wins, same as it ever was. Not news. When the Jayhawks lose, ah, there you go -- it leaves a mark, a hot iron brand in the back of the cortex. Kentucky. Temple. For all the acres upon acres of armor, the focus is on the chinks. Sorry. Not sold yet. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 10 times, shame on Ken Pomeroy.

Shhh! KU riding league-opening win streak |

The Jayhawks have won 23 straight conference openers dating to the 1991-92 season. The last loss was at Oklahoma in 1991.

“Thanks,” KU’s 12th-year coach said with a smile during Monday’s weekly news conference in Allen Fieldhouse. “I guess it (opener) is (important), but it’s not the end of the earth, either. It’s a long season. Eighteen games is a long time, but I really appreciate you pointing that out, though.”

Wednesday's Viewer's Guide: Kansas faces another tough road game -

This game will tell us a lot about both teams. Do the Bears have the talent to keep up? And are the Jayhawks fitting into their roles and becoming better?

Green-Beckham, who transferred from Missouri in April 2014 after several run-ins with the law, never played a down for the Sooners. He was not allowed to play this season after the NCAA denied the school's request for a waiver that would have made him eligible to play immediately.

How Ohio State, Oregon got NCAA family stipend passed in 2 days -

The timing of the announcement raised an obvious question: If the NCAA could find an interpretation so quickly to make this happen, why can't more issues be solved faster?

VIDEO: Brandon Jennings beats the Spurs in dramatic fashion -

The Spurs lead by 18 in the first half over the Spurs. They blew it, went down by ten, tied it, eventually took the lead with eight seconds remaining. The Spurs blew a lot of free throws down the stretch, but they would get fouled, hit two, and that would be that. Right?

World's Worst Referee Takes Phone Call In The Middle Of A Game

Today was the highly anticipated and (in the words of our tipster) "always heated" battle between North Whidbey Middle School and Oak Harbor Middle School in Oak Harbor, Washington. But despite the high stakes of the matchup, one of the referees spent a minute chilling on his phone!
