Thought I'd post this a little earlier than normal today. Rock Chalk!
The Jayhawks are 13-2 (2-0) and coming off an 86-54 win in Lawrence versus Texas Tech. The Red Raiders brandished their meat necklaces and were quickly devoured. And yes, I realize I'm running that into the ground. Anyway, KU currently resides at #9 in the AP Top 25 poll.
Oklahoma State comes in with a brand-new #24 ranking in the AP to go with their 12-3 (2-1) record. The Cowboys are coming off a 69-58 win against Texas in Stillwater.
In a series that dates back to 1929, Kansas leads Oklahoma State by a 109-55 count in head-to-head matchups, including seven of the last nine. KU is 44-9 versus OSU all-time in Allen Fieldhouse. Bill Self is 12-6 versus OSU in his time at Kansas.
The Cowboys are coached by Travis Ford, who is undoubtedly the second-best X's and O's coach in the Big 12 behind Scott Drew. Ford is 137-80 in his seventh season at OSU. Ford 's career record is 327-226 which includes previous stops at Eastern Kentucky and UMass.
The game will air on ESPN2 at 6:00 PM Central Time.
