Kansas head football coach Charlie Weis, offensive coordinator/offensive line coach John Reagan and defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Clint Bowen met with the media Tuesday during Weis' weekly press conference to preview the upcoming matchup with Southeast Missouri State. The Redhawks are coming off a week one victory, 77-0, over Missouri Baptist.

Defensive back Short withdraws from KU | KUsports.com

Despite the timing of Short's departure, Weis said the KU defense had planned to be without him. “He's been practicing as a back-up,” Weis said. “This has been going on for a while. So it isn't like we haven't been prepared for this. We've been prepared for weeks, so this is not something that just hit yesterday.”

With KU's depth and experience, Charlie Weis doesn't worry as much as he used to | Smithology | KUsports.com

Kansas University coach Charlie Weis hadn’t talked football in person with the media for a couple of weeks. So Tuesday’s press conference, leading up to the Jayhawks’ season-opener Saturday against Southeast Missouri State, had plenty of nuggets.

Weis: KU must take next step | KUsports.com

“I think that Kansas football, at this stage, is not about being just respected,” Weis said. “I mean, we all want to win, starting in this building. Our players will be very disappointed if they don’t win a significant number of games more than we had last year.”

HoopsHype - Catching up with Kansas recruit Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk

Why Kansas?

B1G schedules enter new, exciting phase - Big Ten Blog - ESPN

Last spring, the Big Ten began having quarterly conference calls with each school's football schedule coordinator. During these calls, each school reports its scheduling agreements or potential agreements. The idea is to keep everyone in the loop. If there's a series one conference member can't schedule with a marquee opponent, another might make it work.

Oregon State Beavers get commitments from Tres Tinkle, Stephen Thompson Jr., and Derrick Bruce - ESPN

The recruiting pitch was simple: If you come to Oregon State you can play for you dads, contribute immediately and help turn around a Pac-12 program.

Arkansas coaches don't blame being stuck in elevator for poor second half - CBSSports.com

Arkansas coaches aren't going to blame being stuck in an elevator at Jordan-Hare Stadium during halftime of Saturday's loss to Auburn for the team's poor showing in the second half. After Arkansas and Auburn went to the locker rooms at halftime tied 21-21 the second half was all Auburn, as the Tigers outscored the Razorbacks 24-0 the rest of the way.

Los Angeles was able to take a 2-0 lead in the fifth thanks to some, shall we say, chaotic base-running. None of this is by the book.

Hamilton was ultimately fine and remained in the game. Dimuro could not continue, however. MLB has not yet released an update on his status.

You Might Not See A Better Catch In College Football This Year

The buttfumble is the greatest play in history involving someone’s ass. It will never be topped. Ever. But I’m willing to consider Jordan Westerkamp’s buttcatch as the silver medalist.
