Class of 2015 guard Donovan Mitchell trimmed his list to 10 today, he announced on his twitter account. The heavy hitters of the list are North Carolina, Louisville, and Kansas.
Mitchell, a 6'2" guard, exploded onto the scene at the Reebok Breakout a couple of weeks ago. He was considered a borderline top 100 guy before that (Rivals currently has him ranked 101st) but after his recent stretch of great play, there's talk that he could be this years Devonte Graham. Speaking of, Mitchell shared a backcourt with Graham this past season at Brewster Academy, so perhaps a reunion will be in store for the two.
Providence has been on Mitchell the longest, so they might have the inside track for now, but as we've seen with Bill Self, especially recently, if he's in on a guy our chances are probably pretty good.
Mitchell has a quick first step and evaluators really like his potential on the defensive end, which is obviously important to Self. It looks like he has some work to do on his outside shot still, but that can be improved. Mitchell probably won't be a major priority in this class, but he'd be a nice complimentary piece to what hopefully will be Kansas's third straight bigtime class.
