The Jayhawks are 9-2 and returning from Christmas break, which was desperately needed following their last outing, a 77-52 pasting at the hands of Temple in Philadelphia. KU currently resides at #13 in the AP Top 25 poll.
Kent State comes in at 8-3 and is coming off a 78-75 loss at UTEP in the championship game of the Sun Bowl Invitational.
Kansas and Kent State have only squared off once before, in December of 2008 in Allen Fieldhouse, an 87-60 KU victory.
The Golden Flashes are coached by Rob Senderhoff who is 64-43 in his fourth season at Kent State. KSU was picked to finish third in the MAC Eastern Division in the preseason media poll behind Akron an Ohio.
The game will air on Jayhawk IMG TV/ESPN Full Court/ESPN3 (Blackout conditions may apply) at 7 PM Central Time.
