“Sometimes you run offense to run offense as opposed to running offense to score. The other thing,” Self added, “is I’d like to see us be more aggressive. I think we are passive in some ways as far as going after the ball. We’re not getting enough 50/50 balls, not creating extra possessions with our aggressiveness.”

KU commitment Ke'aun Kinner named first-team juco All-American |

Recent Kansas University football commitment Ke'aun Kinner, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back from Navarro College, was named a first-team NJCAA All-American on Tuesday.

Mathis set to sign with KU |

Mathis is one of a handful of transfers expected to make his addition to the KU roster official today, when mid-year transfers are first eligible to sign their letters of intent.

University of Kansas Athletics - SAAC Spotlight: Taylor Rappaport

This week's spotlight is Taylor Rappaport, a senior baseball player from Riverside, California. SAAC is composed of appointed representatives from each of KU's 18 varsity teams and helps promote communication between faculty, administrators, coaches and student-athletes. SAAC members meet monthly to discuss ideas and issues pertinent to KU Athletics, the Big 12 and the NCAA.

Through the Salvation Army's Adopt-A-Family program, the Jayhawks have adopted three families this year. The team divided up into four groups and were tasked with finding outfits and presents for each member of a family.

No. 11 Wichita State scored 13 of the game's final 14 points to hold off Alabama for a 53-52 victory. The Shockers (8-1) took the final lead on Darius Carter's slam with 11.9 seconds remaining, part of his game-high 16 points. For Alabama (6-3) it was a stunning defeat despite 13 points each from Levi Randolph and Shannon Hale. The Tide came very close to snapping Wichita State's 23-game home winning streak.

Former Nebraska Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini to become coach of Youngstown State Penguins - ESPN

Former Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is taking the head-coaching job at Youngstown State. The school is expected to introduce him as the football team's new coach Wednesday. Pelini is a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio.

Bowlsby: Big 12 should consider co-champions after playoff snub -

Bowlsby said West Virginia AD Oliver Luck -- that member of the selection committee from the Big 12 -- told the league, "The co-champion thing really didn't make a different one way or another."
