Big XII Conference Recap- Week 11

Kansas won yesterday, so you’re probably excited for that, and if you need more insight into that contest, RCT has you covered. As for the rest of the Big XII, here’s a quick recap of all the games.

KU wins! KU wins!

Other conference games happened which may or may not affect certain things like championships and playoff berths.

#6 TCU 41, #7 Kansas State 20

The game of the weekend was over pretty quickly. TCU trounced K-State’s vaunted rush defense with 334 yards on the ground in this one. Aaron Green went for 171 and QB Trevone Boykin racked up 123 himself. TCU controlled the clock and now, in turn controls its own fate in the Big 12. While there are three one-loss teams, the Horned Frogs have by far the easiest slate left (at Kansas, at Texas, Iowa State) with Baylor and K-State playing each other and thus eliminating one from title contention. TCU travels to Lawrence on Saturday while K-State has the weekend off before a Thursday night affair in Morgantown, West Virginia.

#12 Baylor 48, #15 Oklahoma 14

This one was supposed to be interesting. It wasn’t. Bryce Petty again chucked it around with abandon racking up 387 yards and a touchdown on 32 of 42 passing while Shock Linwood contributed 87 yards and two TD’s on the ground. Not much more to say about this one other than Oklahoma used to be pretty good and now they’re not. Next week: Baylor is off while OU travels to Texas Tech.

Texas 33, #23 West Virginia 16

Another pretty surprising result. Texas is slowly getting better while WVU is fading back to the reality of the last few seasons. Running back Jonathan Gray led the way for the Longhorns with 101 yards on the ground and three scores. Texas can clinch a bowl berth with a win next weekend against Oklahoma State.
