Iowa State @ Kansas Open Game Thread

Let's have some fun this Saturday for a change, whaddya say?

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Jayhawks fell to 2-6 after being placed on the sacrificial alter at Baylor's first-ever Homecoming game in their brand-new stadium. There's not really much to take away from a 60-14 beatdown, so we'll move on, and hopefully Kansas will too.

Iowa State is also 2-6 after getting creamed on their home field by Oklahoma, 59-14. ISU's two wins this year are over Iowa (20-17) and Toledo (37-30). They've also come close to knocking off K-State and Texas, but have also been creamed by North Dakota State and Oklahoma State. Unfortunately, this game will probably come down to which Iowa State squad travels to Lawrence.

Kansas is 49-38-6 all-time versus Iowa State. The Cyclones have won the last four in a row in this series, the last two in blowout fashion. Prior to this streak, Kansas had won five in a row. Interestingly, of the six ties in the series, three of them were by a 0-0 score (1919, 1928, 1934).

Most of us expect this to be KU's last, best chance to pick up a win before the end of the year, and rightfully so. KU has yet to play TCU, Oklahoma, and Kansas State, the last two on the road. Let's really the troops and see if we can help the boys the victory!
