UC Santa Barbara @ Kansas Open Game Thread

The season officially begins tonight as the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara invade Allen Fieldhouse. UCSB is not ranked, but they're no slouches either, coming off a 21-9 season in which they placed second in the Big West Conference with a 12-4 record. They are returning four starters from that team and were picked to finish second in the Big West in the preseason coaches poll.

Kansas is looking to win its 42nd-consecutive home opener in Allen Fieldhouse, dating back to the 1973-74 season. Since 2001-02, the Jayhawks have won their last 12 season openers. The only meeting between these two schools came back in Bill Self's first season on Dec 20, 2003, at the Wolf Pack Holiday Classic, and was a 72-52 Kansas victory.
