Despite an idle weekend and a Florida State victory over Top 10 opponent Notre Dame, Mississippi State held on to the top spot in the polls this weekend. The Seminoles retained the #2 spot and are in firm control of their own destiny, having no ranked teams left on their schedule.
The SEC became the first league to place four teams in the Top 5 in the history of the AP Poll. Interestingly, all four teams are from the same division (SEC West). Alabama moved back into the Top 5 after demolishing Texas A&M in Tuscaloosa.
Big 12 teams Baylor and Oklahoma both fell out of the Top 10 while TCU moved in at #10. Kansas State moved up to #11 and West Virginia entered the polls at #22 while Oklahoma State fell all the way from #15 to unranked after getting smoked by TCU.
The remaining undefeated teams in FBS are Mississippi State, Florida State, Ole Miss, and Marshall.
