Can Kansas get a road win?

Ed Zurga

The Jayhawks fell to 2-4 after a valiant effort at home against Oklahoma State last week. Michael Cummings earned the start in place of an ineffective Montell Cozart and the Kansas offense finally looked almost competent at times. Let's see if they can continue to get Tony Pierson the ball and use those receivers to get the ball down the field, all while not neglecting what has been an effective rushing attack.

Texas Tech fell to 2-4 after blowing a fourth quarter lead at home against West Virginia last week. The Red Raiders have put points on the board, but unfortunately for them, their opponents have generally been putting up more. TTU is allowing an average of 39.5 points per game, and this includes a schedule that has the likes of Central Arkansas and UTEP on it.

Kansas is 1-14 all-time vs Texas Tech. The one win came back in 2001, in Lubbock of all places - but it wasn't enough to save Terry Allen's job. Since then, Tech has reeled off seven in a row against the Jayhawks.

Basically, something is going to have to give here. Generally, when a defense is struggling, it suddenly looks pretty good the week that they play KU. Let's hope the Kansas offense gets going against the Tech defense instead of the Tech defense figuring it out against the Kansas offense.

Rock Chalk!
