1. Oklahoma State (No. 11 AP) (3-0) (Last Week: 1)
This week: Bye
Next week: at West Virginia
2. Baylor (No. 19) (3-0) (LW: 3)
The Bears have put up 69 points or more in all three of their games. Granted those were against cupcakes, let's see what they do in conference play. On Saturday, they didn't score in the fourth quarter, which is quite impressive. Lache Seastrunk had 156 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Yeah, he's a Heisman candidate.
This week: W vs. ULM (70-7)
Next week: Bye
3. Oklahoma (No. 14) (3-0, 1-0) (LW: 2)
This week: Bye
Next week: at Notre Dame
4. Texas Tech (No. 24) (4-0, 1-0) (LW: 5)
The defense stepped up for the second week in a row for the Red Raiders. Quarterback play might be the biggest question mark as both starter Baker Mayfield and backup Davis Webb are freshman.
This week: vs. Texas State (33-7)
Next week: Bye
5. TCU (1-2, 0-1) (LW: 4)
This week: Bye
Next week: vs. SMU
6. Texas (2-2, 1-0) (LW: 7)
Texas avoided its first 1-3 start since 1956 and snapped a five-game skid against Kansas State. A good win indeed for the Longhorns, but Mack Brown is still in the hot seat. Jonathan Gray ran for 141 yards and two scores on 28 touches.
This week: W vs. Kansas State (31-21)
Next week: Bye
7. Kansas State (2-2, 0-1) (LW: 6)
The Wildcats dug themselves into a 17-0 hole that they couldn't climb out of. Tyler Lockett had 237 yards on 13 catches.
This week: L at Texas (21-31)
Next week: Bye
8. Kansas (2-1) (LW: 9)
Progress! The Jayhawks surpassed their win total from a season ago. Just four more wins until they're eligible for a bowl game. Huge kick from Matthew Wyman to give Kansas the win. It's been practicing celebrating after a game-winning field goal in practice since spring ball in 2012. KU snapped a 22-game losing streak against FBS teams. Up next: Winning a game away from Lawrence and winning a Big 12 game.
This week: W vs. Louisiana Tech (13-10)
Next week: Bye
9. West Virginia (2-2, 0-1) (LW: 7)
One step forward, two steps back. Just an ugly weekend for the Mountaineers. WVU had 175 yards of total offense and six turnovers. Woof.
This week: L vs. Maryland (in Baltimore) (0-37)
Next week: vs. Oklahoma State
10. Iowa State (0-2) (LW: 10)
This week: Bye
Next week: at Tulsa (Thursday Night)
