But when the Sacramento Kings snagged McLemore at No. 7, each one of them turned his thoughts to another former Jayhawk who unexpectedly slipped down the board on draft night 15 years ago.

I certainly hope Ben proves to be as productive as we all think he can.

Portland drafts KU's Jeff Withey with 39th overall pick -
Odd that both Jayhawks slipped quite a bit. Withey's I get more than McLemore's drop, but both were a little disappointing as a fan.

KU’s Ben McLemore drafted seventh by Sacramento Kings -
In the weeks leading up to the draft, McLemore’s draft stock had reportedly begun to slip, the result of some subpar workouts and an unclear relationship with Rodney Blackstock, the man who allegedly gave money to McLemore’s former AAU coach during the KU basketball season.
