This afternoon, at 2:30PM CST, Ben McLemore and Bill Self will hold a press conference to announce Ben McLemore's intentions regarding the NBA draft. The safe assumption here is that McLemore will be going to the NBA next season as he is currently projected as a top five, top three and perhaps even THE top pick in the upcoming NBA draft. McLemore marks the third freshman to go to the professional ranks during the Bill Self era, a list that includes Xavier Henry and Josh Selby.
McLemore was everything you want in a one and done. Granted his time at Kansas was more than a typical one and done so it was a little unconventional, but as a player he was dynamic and left fans in aw. As a person he was humble, soft spoken and very much a team player. This year Kansas started four seniors, those four seniors were great role players, but McLemore was the star power. Jeff Withey was the next closest thing and both player received national mention, but McLemore has the potential to be the next great Jayhawk in the NBA.
We'll know more today at 2:30, but I think we all know what we can expect when McLemore steps up to the podium.
